Ok things are seriously piling up on me.
I have a Halloween party coming up next week, And a Deepavali dinner a month from that. Not to mention Deepavali itself just around the end of this month. See, the reason why these events are particularly stressful is because I'm not doing them with my trusty YEC. Nop, I'm doing them with the newly formed Young Indians Committee. I'm not too sure if I've mentioned them but basically they are a subsidiary of the Indian Activist Executive Committee (IAEC). See the thing is that the total manpower of the YIC is about 3. On paper we're a 10 member strong committee, but as it always is with the indians, we're only actually Vikki and me whenever he can, Kanna. Not Fun.
Sub-coms like us don't have money. we have to depend on the main committee that formed us. Thats kinda hard to do when your main com is full of bullshit and not to mention bone-dry-broke. I'm this close to telling the IAEC to fuck off. The only thing holding me back is uncle Raj, who is a responsible leader and all around great guy and the fact that i volunteered to sit in. The thing is that i wanted to do something for the Indian society that around me and the most logical way to do that was to join the IAEC. But for the moment i'm holding back my forms. No way i'm gonna get pulled in on all the nonsense within the IAEC. Kinda sad huh? with me being Indian and all.
The IAEC in Canberra just have too much dirt going on within the committee to realize that volunteerism goes beyond who the leader of the committee is or what a member did or didn't do for the committee. I say this because i've been part of the YEC for almost 4 years now and i've had the opportunity to work in an environment without the issues the IAEC has. Nobody in the YEC would ever bother who our leader is or who gets the limelight. I guess thats what makes us so close.
So when i tell you that i'm pretty worked up over the Halloween thing, you have an idea.
