What are friends for?

"Duuuuude!, she's hot."
"Yeah i know"
"Eh man, She's smokin' hot."
"I know. Shaddup!"

Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Goh, 19, Libra, comes from a rich family, knows 7 languages, speaks 5, loves children, hates cigarettes, drinks coffee, goes on a diet every other week, yoga enthusiast and she walks around with a huge green neon sign over her head that screams "you don't deserve me". I've been watching her from this very table for nearly 3 years. The people at this Starbucks know me on a first name basis. Yes... it's that bad. I've been in the same school as her since we were 15. I know almost everything i need to know about her and she...
I don't think she knows me. She didn't know me when i sat across the class back when we were in school, she didn't know me when i sent her flowers after we got back our O'level results, she didn't know me when my heart stopped beating when she walked past me yesterday. So i'm pretty accurate to say that this girl's oblivious to the fact that i exist
To think my life revolves around this girl.. .
Pathetic?
The story of my life.

"Eh cannot la. She's too hot for you"
"Thanks ah."
"No seriously man, this one looks like she's worth a million bucks, you...are broke because you just had Starbucks coffee"
"Can you like go away?"

Even opressed geeks like me have best friends.
Raja is probably the only friend i've ever had. Although we went to different schools, we pretty much lived off each other. He's like an indian version of me...just with a little more luck in the ladies department. His girlfriend's not in town at the moment, which is probably why he's been bugging the hell out of me for the past four hours...

"She's got pretty big bo-."
"I know, enough la!"
"Hahaha, eh your girl's leaving."
"I know, I know."
"Ok la, ok la, i gotta go too, i've to pick up Mala at the airport."
"Ya ok. Remind her about my souvenir."

He can be such an irritant some times, but that crazy brown fellow's been with me all my life. You kinda get used to it after a few years. I have to admit, as annoying as it was, having him here tonight was a little fun. Anything beats drinking coffee alone on a friday night.
"BEEEP!"
I had a message on my phone. It was from Raja.
"What are friends for?"
Huh? What the-? It was probably some stupid joke he had planned, he was always messing around like this. I just ignored that message and went back to my thoughts. As much as i hated wasting my time like this, i couldn't actually think of anything else to do. It's not that i'm a coward or anything. It's just so hard to make the first move. That and the fact that society has a habbit of calling me a loser...

"BEEEP!"
Another message. Ok, I've had it with Raja's jokes for today!
It was only then that i realized that it wasn't Raja who messaged me.. .

You were the one that sent me flowers after my O'levels?
My heart stopped.
