Hey guys,
In the previous post, when i said i'd comment about Spider-Man 3 after i'd watched it, i ment this weekend or maybe next week.
But ganesh called.
He called early.
Like 11am early.
I got off the phone with him yesterday agreeing to go watch spidey this weekend.
But Mr. Marvel here couldn't wait..
So the story ends with me scraping all the money i had, dithcing my study date and blasting down to Causway Point for the 1.15pm movie.
Fun.
As always.
Today's movie was a classic me-and-ganesh.
We went to Cold Storage, stocked up on huge bags of Doritos and Salsa (hot and 99% fat free).
We woud have gotten our traditional jolly shandy...but the both of us were broke.
Yeah.
We were that broke.
But it was fun.
Just like the old days.
As for the movie itself.. .
I have to say i enjoyed it.
Sure, i left the cinema with a slightly empty heart, but thats just the curse of being a marvel fan.
You can never really satisfy a marvel fan.. .
The Good:
The movie was the best spiderman installment so far. Although not exactly sticking to its comic origins, the movie did try its best to be faithful to spidey and friends. The potrayal of the Hob Goblin was excellent. It was not the exact comic displacement, but it was true to the storyline. The charactor development in the movie was also much better than the previous movies especially the Harry Osbourne/ Hob Goblin charactor. I'll give it 4 stars for the brilliant CGI and excellent action sequences.
The Bad:
Venom. Topher Grace? no seriously, venom was always a larger than life character in the Marvel universe. The Venom/Eddie Brock charactor was made to be at least 6ft tall with a 200lbs build. Instead we get the wuss from Wisconsin. No offense to Topher Grace though. Eddie Brock Jr. was an arrogant and competitive charactor and Topher potrayed that well.
But he sucked as Venom.
The Ugly:
Venom. I'm sorry guys, but Venm really disturbed me. I've been reading Venom since i was 5. So you'd understand when i say that the Venom charactor was not potrayed up to standards. Firstly the movie Venom is wayy more smaller in bulk than the Original Venom is. Marvel fans would know that there are a few distinct features in Venom that made it famous. The elongated eyes, the sharp alien teeth, the black suit/web/symbiote and the most famous of them all, the long tongue. Venom didn't seem to have his tongue in the movie. No long disgusting tongue hanging out. That was disappointing. The way venom morphs and reveals his human host was also not potrated correctly. All in all, they tried to do a good job with Venom, i'll agree to that, but they only managed to come half way. No tongue, no venom guys.
So there you have it.
Spider-Man 3 for you.
Its a good movie people.
Well worth your $10.
I maight go watch it again.
Might...
