The Ring of Impact, at the will of the Villian, sent forth an immense beam of concussive force, equivalent to 350 pounds TNT.
The beam as if guided by the mandrin himself impacted squarely on Iron Man's chestplate, instantly shattering Iron Man's Unibeam and severly damaging the suit's anti-gravity servos.
Warning! 87 Percent Damage Sustained. Boosters will fail in approximately 54 seconds...

Stark was almost passed out now.
With one last heave of breath Tony Stark gave out his final orders.
"Armor...Transfer weapons reserves to boosters...and auxillary power modules to life-support systems...deploy counter-measures and initiate total system Shut Down in 5 seconds."
With a sudden burst of energy, Iron Man propelled foward at the same time releasing 28 canisters of compressed Magnesium-Teflon-Viton Compounds. The canisters erupted into an opaque wall of black-gey smoke perfectly covering Iron Man's escape.
Meanwhile, Iron Man was spiralling in a declining arc down towards the west coast.The armor's life support kicked in just hours before initial impact.
The dust cleared only to reveal Iron Man half buried in the hot North-African Soil.
The armor, sensing it's state of existance opened breathing vents and started Cardiopulmonary resuscitation...
