Hey guys,
It's all about names today..
Indian names.
I've spent a great deal of my life searching the exact meaning of my name.
I'm talking exact.
Well now i finally know.
After sourcing through the net and searching through various books...
And ending up with nothing..
I finally decided to play the last card i had.
I went to a local temple.
And that did it.
I have the meaning of my name.
I finally have the meaning of my name.
See all this while i've been thinking (because i've been told) that my name ment "Leader of the Lotus"
Padma being Lotus and Naathan being Leader.
...
In a way that was not too much of the mark.
Leader of the Lotus, directly traslated into sanskrit, is Padmanathan.
Notice 2 'A's missing?
In reality:
Padmaa means Nature ans Naathan means the Son of God
When positioned together Padmaanaathan means:
The Son of God who is one with Nature.
This, Ladies and Gentlemen, is me
Here's more info...
According to Hindu/Sanskrit lore...
Padmaanaathan (pronounced Pad-maa-naa-tharan in sanskrit)
was the name Purishothara, the first man created by god, gave his first born child.
Padmaanaathan was one with the forests, fields, rivers and everything that lived in them.
He brought about the harvest season and with his mother, Padhma, gave life to flowers.
He weilds knowledge and might but breathes lavender petals when faced with aggression.
Padmaanaathan dies at the age of 1800 when his brother Ramavarathan asks for his life to save his own.
It is also believed that if rained for the first time on his funeral as a sign of nature's mourning.
...
Cool?
Cooooool!
That was a direct translation from the hindu religious Vedas.
The Vedas have been translated from Paravetham to Sanskrit to Tamil and now to English.
So there's bound to be a little glitches here and there..
But other than that it should all check out.
Thanks to Shruthi and my sister for making me find out all this stuff.
Hahaha.
I hated beinglabelled as a freakin flower.
I can soooo live with "Nature"
Note: When i was talking to the priest at the temple he mentioned that it was the first time he met someone with my exact name. Guess my theory about my name being unique is kinda true after all huh?
